A fantastic opportunity to work for La Redoute who came to the UK in 1995 and is one of the first UK retailers to offer French fashion to the UK customer. You will provide vital admin support to the UK Product team, ensuring that products selected for sale in the UK are created and on site meeting deadlines set by our buying teams.


What will the apprentice be doing?

  • The Product team work on everything from the concept details of the product listing, through to getting it on social media and into the shopping basket on the website. It’s a varied role which covers a lot of ground.
  • Working closely with the UK buying team, you will be responsible for ensuring that the products the team have selected for sale in the UK market are created in our systems.  This will cover everything from ensuring that the product types and categories are correct, to working with suppliers on ensuring that product descriptions and images accurately reflect the product.
  • Whilst the majority of the role is computer-based admin, this can vary from spreadsheets in Excel to learning and using many bespoke systems. There is the opportunity to get up close and personal with the product, liaise with suppliers and copywriters and to implement new processes and ways of working. A steadfast approach, attention to detail, resilience and a can-do attitude is imperative.

About the Employer

La Redoute came to the UK in 1995 and is fondly remembered as one of the first UK retailers to offer French fashion to the UK customer. It started life as a catalogue, transforming into an online retailer in the last 5 years. The UK team consists of c. 75 people who work across a variety of teams including Brand, Marketing, Product, Buying, Analytics, Financial Services, Operations, IT, Accounts, Customer Service and Support. We are based at the UK office in Bradford where we run the business. We work closely with colleagues at Head Office in France and we are in regular dialogue with colleagues in various countries and time zones, which can make for interesting conversations. The Product Admin Assistant role is part of the Marketing team, the liveliest in the business, as you would expect! The Marketing team are responsible for planning, delivering, and analysing the trading performance of the business, which in basic terms means getting sales and new customers every day. The Product Management team are the backbone of the business… without them we would have nothing to sell. With nothing to sell we wouldn’t make any money. If we don’t make money… well, you get the gist! The teams in our Head Office in France are responsible for buying and selecting some the products that we sell however, in this role you will be supporting our local UK based buying team as we expand the exciting opportunities we have to sell products that are sourced in the UK. But that’s just the start!

Training to be Delivered

Customer Service Practitioner L2 Standard

18 months duration

Training is delivered mainly in the workplace with half day a week at Printworks Campus, Leeds City College.
