What are the progression routes from these courses?
Progression routes are available from Level 1 through to Level 3 within the department. We also work closely with other areas across the college to effectively move students on to progress within their chosen vocational area. University Centre Leeds also offers degrees in Event Management and Business, Enterprise and Management as a further progression route for Level 3 students. Students will also link in with the apprenticeships team at college to learn about apprenticeship vacancies.
I don’t know what I want to do yet so will this course help me look at options?
Throughout the Level 1 and Level 2 courses you will have access to full support around deciding what you want to do going forward and what you need to do to achieve these goals. A full careers support package will be in place via our pastoral team and the careers team in college alongside taster sessions in other curriculum areas where you will be able to try out a range of vocational activities to decide which route is best for you.
On completion of this course will students be equipped with the skills and knowledge to make them potential new employees?
Yes, a large focus of all our courses is around students getting experience working in real environments via a range of projects, community activities, and events which will enable them to improve their personal and employability skills. We work alongside employers to arrange talks, workplace visits, live briefs and employability events so students gain first-hand experience and knowledge.
