This course has replaced our CACHE L1 Award in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children's and Young People's Settings this academic year.

Designed as a 1 year course of full time study to introduce you to a range of key themes and topics related to working with adults, children and young people.

This L1 Certificate is for learners aged 16-18 years old.


Units / Modules

You will study 6 units that cover a range of topics around physical and mental health and wellbeing in relation to working in the health and social care sectors such as stress and stress management, awareness of mental health and relationships.

All topics are relevant and will help you in future employment or study.

Entry Requirements

Grade requirements:

4x grade E/2 in GCSEs including 2s in both English & Maths Learners without the grade requirements or international qualifications will be assessed for Literacy and Numeracy levels.

Additional requirements:

Successful interview and demonstration of appropriate sector care values.

To complete the course successfully you must be able and willing to independently complete a minimum number of social action and/or work experience hours within a relevant health and social care setting.
